Day 1: Home / Bangkok. Depart for Bangkok. Day 2: Bangkok. Upon arrival in Bangkok, you will be taken to your hotel. Balance of the day is free. Day 3: Bangkok. A morning tour features the Grand Palace, Emerald Buddha Temple and Wat Po (Reclining Buddha) Temple. Afternoon is free. Tonight, enjoy a Thai dinner with classical dance at Siloam Village. (B, D) Day 4: Bangkok. A morning tour features the Grand Palace, Emerald Buddha Temple and Wat Po (Reclining Buddha) Temple. Afternoon is free. Tonight, enjoy a Thai dinner with classical dance at Siloam Village. (B, D) Day 5: Bangkok / Ayuthaya / Bangkok. Today you visit Ayuthaya, capital of the Kingdom of Siam from 1350 to 1767. It is the inspiration for modern Bangkok and awes travelers with Wat Mongkol Borphlit, Phanan Cheong and its three towering pagodas. Next you visit Saraburi, home to Phra Buddha Bhat. After lunch, take a relaxing cruise back to Bangkok. (B, L) Day 6: Bangkok / Chiang Rai / Golden Triangle. This morning, you fly to Chiang Rai. Upon arrival, you visit Akha and Yao hill tribe villages. Next you visit ancient Chiang Saen, Wat Pasak and Wat Chedi Luang. Lunch is provided at a local restaurant. This afternoon, you drive to the Golden Triangle and take a boat down the Khong River to visit Koh don Sao. Last visit is to the Opium House. You return to Chiang Rai stopping at Mae Sai, the border town between Thailand and Myanmar. (B, L) Day 7: Chiang Rai / Chiang Mai. Drive to Chiang Mai with stops en route at Wat Rong Khun and Hot Spring. Lunch is provided at a local restaurant in Chiang Mai. This afternoon, you visit a handicraft village where you can discover how paper umbrella, silk, silver, lacquerware are made. Check in to your hotel. (B, L) Day 8: Chiang Mai. This morning, you visit Mae Sa Elephant Camp where you see how elephants are trained for their shows. (Optional Elephant ride). You visit the Orchid Farm before having lunch at a local restaurant. Finally, you visit Doi Suthep, the most famous landmark of Chiang Mai. (B, L) Day 9: Chiang Mai / Bangkok / Yangon. Depart for Yangon, capital of Myanmar via Bangkok. Upon arrival, you will be taken to your hotel. An afternoon tour of Yangon includes a walk through downtown and Sule Pagoda. Late this afternoon, you visit the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda of Rudyard Kipling fame and one of Myanmar’s most sacred places. (B, L, D) Day 10: Yangon / Bagan. You take an early morning flight to Bagan. After checking in to the hotel, you take an excursion around the Bagan Archaeological Zone World Heritage Area. A comprehensive exploration of Bagan features Nyaung Oo market; Shwezigon Pagoda, the prototype of later Maynmar stupas; Kyansittha Umin; Wet-kyi-inn Gubyaukgyl Temple with its exquisite 13th century murals; Htilominlo Temple. This afternoon, after visiting lacquerware workshops, continue to Manuha Temple (built by exile King Manuha), Ananda Temple (architectural masterpiece), and Oak- Kyaung Monastery decorated with multi color murals. Enjoy a breathtaking sunset from one of the temple of Bagan. (B, L, D) Day 11: Bagan / Mandalay. Depart this morning for Mandalay. Upon arrival, you drive to the ancient capital of Amarapura, the city of Immortality, for a visit to Bagaya Monastery (with its famous collection of Buddha images), weaving industries, U-Bein Bridge on the Taungtaman Lake, and observe thousands of monks taking their last daily meal at 10:00 a.m. in total silence. Proceed to Mandalay and check in at the hotel. After lunch, your tour in Mandalay features Mahanumi (a lifelike Buddha image) and a gold leaf-making workplace. Tour concludes with visits to the Royal Palace, Shwenandaw Wooden Monastery, the Kuthodaw Pagoda (home of the world largest book), and Mandalay Hill to enjoy a sunset overlooking the River Irrawraddy. (B, L, D) Day 12: Mandalay / Heho / Inle Lake. This morning, you fly to Heho on the Shan plateau. Upon arrival, you will be taken to Inle Lake. You leisurely make your way down to the Inle basin via “long-tail” boat out across the lake to your hotel. After checking in, head out for a boat excursion around Inle Lake. You will visit Phaungdawoo Pagoda which houses the fi ve most revered Buddha images in the southern Shan States and Jumping Cat Monastery, named after its trained jumping cats. (B, L, D) Day 13: Inle Lake / Heho / Yangon. Today, you fly back to Yangon. Upon arrival, you visit the BogyokeAung San Market (Scott Market) for souvenir browsing and Chaukhtutgyl, a huge reclining Buddha Image. Later this afternoon stroll along the “pilgrim’s causeway across the Royal Lake with stunning views of Schwedagon Pagoda and its beautiful Royal Barge. (B,L,D) Day 14: Yangon / Bangkok. Depart for Bangkok where you can connect to your flight home or to your next destination.
